The leader who had no title — SHINE
Robin Sharma is the author of many great books. The below principles come from the book as in the title, I highly recommend them as I’ve been using them already before reading the book long enough to know they truly work.
SHINE is an acronym for:
We need to realize (see clearly) that our thoughts are just thoughts. What we focus on will grow. Our reality is what we embrace with our attention. If we let ourselves think, that people mean bad for us our mind will treat it as a reality and adjust our behavior to this view, which in consequence will lead to people meaning bad for us, or at least our strong conviction that they do. It’s like a zoom or a focus function in a camera — what you put in your focus area is what you get. If, as a photographer, you set your heart on taking gloomy photos, your mind will find all the possible opportunities, getting all the happy ones out of your site. My observation is that the ego stands behind this mechanism.
Health is our biggest wealth. Can you remember the last time when you were sick? What did you think about then? Working, having more money, or maybe doing something for fun? Normally sickness changes our priorities. To avoid such disruption in what really matters and to stay in the game longer, we need to take care of ourselves. Only this way we have more energy and willingness to reach our goals.
Inspiration is the core of our existence. We need to inspire ourselves every day. Inspiration means reading a good book on a subject of our interest and beyond it to broaden our horizons. Looking at things from a different perspective gives us much better solutions, we don’t fall into a rut which can be a road to mediocrity at best and failure at worst.
Our family, friends, and all the people close to our hearts should at all costs be not neglected by us. No matter how individual we may seem, we all take energy from contacts with people who want the best for us. Always find time to appreciate the ones around you.
Elevate your life. Don’t buy on a spur of the moment. Equip yourself with quality things that will make your life more pleasurable. Quality is what matters, not quantity. More on a proper attitude to material stuff in a different post.
Raise and shine. There’ll be no better time for it.
With love, clarity, and purpose
